A Photojournalistic Journey Shaped by Art, Travel, and Precision

Since graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Photojournalism in 2002, Katherine Bish has emerged as one of St. Louis’ leading photographers. Her work is defined by a unique blend of photojournalistic storytelling and artistic lighting — a style that allows her to capture authentic moments with technical precision and creative flair.

Katherine’s career began abroad in England, where she worked for The European Stars and Stripes, covering assignments including the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Her travels have since taken her across Greece, Scotland, France, Wales, the Netherlands, and Australia, shaping her global perspective behind the lens.

Experience-Driven Photography Across Disciplines

Now based in St. Louis, Katherine specializes in corporate events, culinary, portrait, and wedding photography. She has served as St. Louis Magazine’s primary food photographer and completed more than 1,200 assignments for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Her client list includes long-standing partnerships with organizations, restaurants, and families who return year after year for her trusted eye and personal approach.
Katherine’s photography has been featured in National Geographic Traveler, Food & Wine, Gourmet, Bon Appétit, and The Wall Street Journal. Her culinary expertise also led her to photograph a PBS cookbook featuring 17 types of ethnic cuisine and to four ethnic cookbooks with G. Bradley Publishing Company. She has written the “Spicy Bits” food column for the Ladue News and was once the youngest member of the St. Louis Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, an international society of women leaders in food, fine beverage, and hospitality.

Katherine finds joy in building lasting relationships with her clients and bringing creativity to every project. “I love the challenge of creating something meaningful and beautiful,” she says. “Photography allows me to connect with people, tell their stories, and see the world in new ways.”
